This issue is that this program will only scan Legal Size when you select 'entire Glass'. SO.I have also found a program called 'HP Scan and Capture'. WHY? I need a reliable alternative that does not require web access. The HP Smart app itself seems to work.BUT for a simple scan it seems to want a log-in to a webservice. I seem to be directed to the HP Smart App. I see references to 'HP print assistant' but I can't find a place to download it? It has a legal size sheet feeder and Tabloid (11x17) scanning glass.
